Edward (Ed) Arthur Trappen, age 82, of Twin Falls, Idaho passed away at home peacefully on October 3, 2017 after a lengthy illness. He was born on October 25, 1934 to Henry and Viola Trappen.
He grew up in Jerome, Idaho, graduating from Jerome High School where he was a Yell King. Ed met Carole Joanne Wark, his future wife, at a Twin Falls High School dance. They would have been celebrating 64 years of marriage this December. They had four children, Victor Scott Trappen (Leanne) of Twin Falls, Idaho; Edward Trent Trappen (deceased) of Twin Falls, Idaho; Sheri Trappen-Kennedy of Phoenix, Arizona; and Tara Sue Ball (Jeffrey) of Boise, ID. They have 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
He served 45 years as a journeyman electrician and an active member of the IBEW and mastered many other trades. When Ed made a commitment, he was all in. He was a life-time member of the Twin Falls Gun Club. He traveled the world from home as a Ham radio operator, placed first in the Idaho Chess Club Championship, and coached women’s softball for many years. He had a love of camping as a member of the Dam Fools-Magic Reservoir, and was a member of the Moose Lodge. In later years he became a member of the Twin Falls Cronies’ Coffee Club at the Depot Grill and the Ground Round.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Parke’s Magic Valley Funeral Home, Twin Falls, Idaho, on October 10th at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Auburn Crest Home Health and Hospice or a charity of your choice.
