Blake Christopher Heron

Liz (Heron) and Jack Betty wish to announce the passing of their son, Blake Christopher Heron, 35, star and recipient of the Young Artist Award of 1997 for the movie “Shiloh” based on the Newberry Award winning book.  Blake resided in La Crescenta, CA with the love of his life, Chanel Panagiotopoulos and their four-footed baby, Lemmy.  Blake was born on Long Island in Rockville Centre, NY on January 11^th, 1982 to Liz and Walter Heron, both from New York.  Blake was naturally athletic, a gifted artist and a generous friend and family member.  Always loving, trusting and big-hearted, Blake saw the good in all he interacted with. 

He is recognized by his existing family members, his mother Liz(Heron) Betty, step-father Jack Betty, step-siblings Cassandra/Bryan Hansen of Layton, UT, Nicole/Heston Williams of Riverton, UT, Jeremy/Tesha Betty of Jerome, ID, father Walter Heron, grandmother Mildred Levy, Uncle Ted/Carla Wright, cousins Michael Wright and Nikki Stamper, grandparents Melvin/Ingrid Betty, Aunt Pat/Riz Neeser, Uncle Tom/Michelle Betty, Uncle James/Toni Betty, all cousins and everyone who considered Blake a brother/son/father.  He is loved and will be dearly missed by us all.

Blake spent the first seven years of his upbringing on Long Island, NY.  He demonstrated his desire for acting during this time and once went on a mass audition at Madison Square Garden.  In addition to attending plays, Blake also attended many concerts which developed his interests in music.  Blake learned to ski and surf before moving to Marietta, GA. 

Once Blake moved to the south, he began his quest for acting.  His engaging nature brought him the attention of a talent agency and Blake signed with “Kiddin’ around” in Atlanta, GA, thus beginning his career in Hollywood.  Blake’s first tv show, Reality Check, helped lead him to a role in the movie Andersonville, directed by John Frankenheimer.  In 1995, after filming Tom & Huck, Blake officially moved to Los Angeles with his mother to continue his acting career. 

In 1997, Blake’s most memorable movie was released, Shiloh for which he earned a Young Actors Award. He was also involved in the following productions: for TV, Reality Check, Nick Freno: Licensed Teacher, The Cybill Show, Pickett Fences, The Guardian, Early Edition, It Ain’t Easy, Family Law, G VS E, Secret Service Guy, Boston Public, ER and NCSI: NO. Movies include: Andersonville, Tom & Huck, Trilogy of Terror, Shiloh, Journey of the Heart, Into the Sun, Wind River, Waves, Don’t Look Back, Cheaters, 11:14, Blast, We Were Soldiers, Dandelion, and a Thousand Junkie’s.

A cele”Blake”tion service will be held on September 16, 2017 in Los Angeles. Formal service will be on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. in Twin Falls at Parke’s Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Rd, Twin Falls, Idaho.  Those who wish may share memories and condolences on Blake’s Memorial page at www.magicvalleyfuneralhome.com.
