On September 10, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family in Twin Falls, Idaho, Barbara Kevan, peacefully went home to the Lord at the remarkable age of 102.
Born in Lava, Idaho to Dewey and Naomi Evans Warner, Barbara lived every one of her years with joy, grit, and heart. Her greatest love was her husband (Bill) of 63 years, with whom she shared a full and adventurous life that took them all across the West and beyond. Together they raised 5 daughters, who in turn blessed them with 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Nothing brought her more joy than watching that big, bustling family grow, often from her favorite spot on the porch, keeping an eye on both kids and cattle.
Barbara’s career as a teacher was only the beginning of a lifetime of teaching. She had a gift for showing people what mattered most: from how to make the perfect fried chicken, to how to love as Christ loves us, and, with a smirk, that talking across the table is strictly forbidden in a game of Pinochle.
A passionate reader, Barbara delighted in getting lost in the pages of Tom Clancy and James Patterson, and she passed along her love of books to her children and grandchildren. She also modeled a tireless work ethic, cheering on her grandchildren through years of 4-H projects, and giving her time generously to others.
A devoted member of the First Baptist Church, Barbara’s faith was steady and deep. She was a woman of God, family, and quiet strength, someone who taught by example, loved fiercely, and laughed often.
Barbara is survived by all of her children and her sister (Mary Clysdale).
Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched with her love, wisdom, and humor.
There will be a Celebration of Life in the spring of 2026. Please contact family for details.
