Cheryl L. Mildon

December 6, 1946 — April 20, 2023

Cheryl Lorene Mildon received her wings at the age of 76 on April 20th, 2023 with her son and daughter by her side, at her home, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. Cheryl was born December 6, 1946 to Frank and Rena Sheppeard in Wendell Idaho. She attended school in Jerome, Idaho and graduated from Jerome High School in 1965. She was a baton twirler and a majorette in high school. She also won a beauty pageant. Cheryl married Jim A Mildon July 17, 1966. They were married 33 years before Jim’s passing in 1999. She and Jim raised their family in Twin Falls, Idaho. Their son, Jeff Mildon was born December 1, 1967 and their daughter Brandi Mildon was born January 25th, 1971. Survivors include her children; Jeff (Kristi) Mildon; Brandi Mildon; sisters Shirley Pruett, Sandi Sheppeard; brother Steve (Rose) Sheppeard; three grandchildren, Tyler, Kyra and Lilli Mildon; many nieces and nephews; and her fur babies Tinkerbell and Zoey. Cheryl was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Mildon, her parents, and fur baby Romie She started her career as a dental assistant and eventually joined the banking industry. She worked in collections and as a loan officer for Idaho First, First Security and Wells Fargo banks. Cheryl retired from Wells Fargo bank in 2006. Cheryl was a very independent and creative person. She was very generous with her time and talents and touched many people’s lives. She was an expert seamstress and sewed all the costumes for a CSI production of the King and I, along with clothes for her kids and Halloween costumes. She participated in the Festival of Trees for many years contributing beautiful Christmas tree creations. She was also an accomplished photographer. Cheryl loved to travel. She purchased a 32 foot motorhome and made many trips and had many adventures with her daughter and friends all over the country. Cheryl also enjoyed camping with the High Desert Drifters group. She was a member of the Jerome American Legion Auxiliary Unit 46. She also lunched regularly with her Class of ‘65 girlfriends. Special thanks to Dr. Jared Henderson and Cheryl’s niece Wendy for her care. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Hospice Visions 1770 Parkview Dr. Twin Falls, ID 83301 or to the Jim Mildon Scholarship Fund at the College of Southern Idaho. Graveside Funeral Service will be held on April 28th, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Park in Twin Falls, Idaho.
