Connie Lee Scheibe

July 2, 1950 — September 27, 2023

Connie went home to be with her Heavenly Father on September 27, 2023. Connie Lee (Sheppard) Scheibe was born in Cortez, CO on July 2nd, 1950. She graduated from Boise, ID High School in 1968. Connie married Kenneth Irvin Scheibe on January 3rd , 1970, and together they had five children. Connie was a Stay-at-Home Mom while her children were being raised and later worked as a housekeeper. She used her natural creative talent to decorate many homes for holidays, Parade of Homes, and other occasions. Connie was talented in many areas and stayed very busy keeping her home, garden, and yard beautiful – but she was never too busy to help a loved one. She loved to go dumpster diving and check out yard sales to find a good deal on some kind of ‘junk’ that could be turned into a masterpiece for her home or garden. Her helping hands graced many homes and blessed each one that asked for her help in getting a project done. Connie was especially appreciated for her culinary talent. She was known to throw on a hot meal or make fresh treats for any loved one that even ‘hinted’ to her that something sounded good. Her specialties included maple bars, cherry pie, cinnamon rolls, cookies, sourdough bread and pancakes, or her famous Mexican feast. Connie was a fun personality and never surprised anyone who knew her with her silly, sarcastic jokes at just the right time. She was always the life and entertainment of the party with her crazy looks, sarcasm, and impersonations. Connie had a God-given talent and love for music that was an inspiration to many. She could pick up any instrument and play any song that was requested or was dropped on her heart. She shared her love of music with anyone who wanted to listen. She often played for her Lord in the middle of the night when inspiration would strike her. Connie was the most selfless mother and friend – but her love, devotion, and faithfulness to her Lord was far above anything else in her life. The words she spoke so often – “take anything but my Lord” were a testimony that she lived throughout her life. Connie is survived by her five children: Tim (Anjanette) Scheibe, Christina (Ryan) Boisvert, William (Beverly) Scheibe, Seth Scheibe, and Ruth (Rantz) Hanchey. She is also surrounded by the love of her late sister, Janeane (Sheppard) McGuirl, brother Terry (Tina) Sheppard, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and her grandchildren Lindsay (Derek) Stewart, great-grandchildren (Victoria, Owen, and Lea), Logan, Gracie, Chase, Meghan, Carly, Ryder, and Oakley. We want to express sincere appreciation to the doctors and all the staff at St. Luke’s Cancer Institute for the professional care she has received these past years. We are also very grateful to the Visions Hospice Team for the loving care… each one was a true blessing to Connie during the last moments of her life. Connie had many friends and loved ones that spent time with her and helped her during the final days – especially her devoted best friend Donna, for being a constant at her side, and her niece, Kimberly, whom Connie “just wanted to put in her pocket”. Those cherished moments will never be forgotten. A memorial service will be held at Wilks Magic Valley Funeral Home on Thursday, October 5th , 2023, at 2:00pm – with a private graveside to follow. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family in the guestbook below.
