Obituary

Elizabeth Ann (Betty) Moberg of Buhl, Idaho took her heavenly flight home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 25, 2026, at the age of 90. Betty passed peacefully at her daughter’s home in Oregon with her family around her.

Betty was born in Sheboygan, WI on December 12, 1935, to Arthur and Anne Neuwrith. She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne Robert Moberg, their daughter Gail Diane (Moberg) Ulrich. She is survived by their daughter Michelle (Moberg) Hughes, her husband Mitch, stepdaughter Lynne (Moberg) Sheese and her husband Steve. Two Grandchildren Nicholas Hughes (Kathleen) and Stephanie Hughes Craig (Adam), Great-grandchildren, Rylee, Laramie, and Kimber Craig, Oren, Bearett and Elizabeth Hughes. Two grandchildren in Canada, Kristen and Kimberly Ulrich.

Betty met Wayne in September of 1954, it was love at first sight and they got married in January of 1955. Wayne served active Duty from 1948-1968, so Betty did too. She loved being a proud Navy wife and raising their daughters. In 1968 when Wayne retired from the Navy, the family moved to Seattle, WA. Shortly after that they all moved to Buhl, Idaho where Betty and Wayne called home for the rest of their years. Betty loved living in Buhl, she had the best neighbors and friends anyone could ask for.

Betty and Wayne were very active in the Shriners. Betty was an active supporter of the Job’s Daughters, a member of the Twin Falls Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 29, a dedicated member of the Iras Temple No. 40 Daughters of the Nile, and both the Buhl and Twin Falls Nile clubs.

Betty and Wayne loved to travel and each year a trip was made for many Navy reunions and special occasions with fellow shipmates and friends. Betty continued this tradition even after Wayne passed, going with her daughter Michelle. They also traveled with their Shriner friends to State and National meetings. Along their way they would find many great wineries which they enjoyed visiting.

Betty had a huge heart, she was so giving and cared so much for her husband, family and friends. Betty and Wayne had a true love that showed every day they were together. They are now together for all eternity.

Betty is laid to rest with Wayne at Snake River Canyon National Cemetery in Buhl, Idaho.
