Estella Aston

June 1, 1928 — February 25, 2022

Estella Coon Aston rejoined her eternal companion February 25, 2022 after spending her 93 years on this earth loving the people around her. She was born in Hunter, Utah to Joseph and Emma Coon on June 1, 1928; the eighth child of nine. Estella moved to southern Idaho in 1949 where she and Kenneth Aston began dating. They were married September 5, 1950, and sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on July 28, 1961. On the day she married Ken, she also became a second mother to Ken’s three young children whose mother Ardith had died earlier. In time, Ken and Estella had three more sons. Estella and Ken loved their six children and taught them the importance of family by example. When grandchildren came along, they established the much-loved tradition of an annual Family Camp. Many “hotcups” were drank in Ken and Estella’s travel trailer at Family Camp. Aunts and uncles (siblings of either Estella, Ken or Ardith) were good friends and travel companions. Some grandchildren never knew which of our three grandparents were related to which aunts and uncles. They were all just family. The same went for the rest of the family. There were never any step-, half- or adopted family members. Everyone was just family. Among other things, Grandma enjoyed traveling with Grandpa, spending time with family and friends, crocheting afghans and “telling stories on people”. She was a good storyteller. The stories she related about family, friends and herself were good-natured, told with love, and often had funny endings. After she and Grandpa retired, she learned oil painting, and many of us are delighted to have her paintings in our homes. Estella was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many callings over the years. She and Claudia Andreason were dedicated visiting teaching companions. They continued to visit teach some sisters even after they had moved out of the ward. Estella was preceded in death by husband Kenneth Park and sons Kenneth Vern (Bonnie) and Arnold Evan (Coots). She is survived by Kay Louise Locke, Lynda Heath (Eddie), Alfred Earl (Barbara), and Alan Lee (Dona) as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and _great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 5th at the LDS Church, 2680 Elizabeth Blvd, Twin Falls. Viewing will begin at 9:00 a.m. with the service beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Internment will be at Sunset Memorial Park, Twin Falls.
