Obituary

Jay H. Holstine Jr., 60, of Twin Falls, Idaho, passed away at St. Luke's in Twin Falls on Wednesday, March 25, 2026.

Life is full of the unexpected, thanks in part to Jay Hugh Holstine Jr. and his fun-loving personality and startling pranks. Although Jay would not want us to make a big “dill” (pickleball pun intended) out of him, he is now center court as his family shares with heavy hearts the sudden passing of Jay as a beloved son, father, brother, papa, uncle, and friend. Jay made it to Heaven on March 25th, 2026, in Twin Falls, Idaho, at the age of 60. He now leaves us with memories of his love, laughter, and legacy.

Jay was born in Twin Falls, ID, on November 27th, 1965, to Jay Holstine Sr. and Marie Elizabeth “Liz” Randell Flores. He was the oldest of three siblings: his sister Janice Holstine, his brother Larry Holstine, and his sister Leah “Grant” Cummins.

Jay was the father of six children, through the marriages of Maida Collins Wirsching (d. 2022) and Tennille (Holstine) Kober. Jay and Maida welcomed daughters, Whitney (Nick) Collins, Vicki (Ryan) Holstine Tilley, Jayme Holstine, and son, Logan Holstine, and eventually 12 fantastic grandchildren. Jay and Tennille welcomed sons, JayTen Holstine and TeJay Holstine, completing their family legacy.

Jay was an exceptional athlete at Valley High School (1984 graduate) in football, running track, and basketball. Some of Jay’s greatest joys involve hunting, fishing, coaching, and cheering on his children and grandchildren at sporting events, and he was their loudest supporter. His children remember a father who was full of life and laughter--always wrestling with them, playfully scaring them, and proving to be funnier than anyone else. He will be cherished in the way his humor, energy, and love created lifelong memories.

Jay spent his career in the food industry as a restaurant manager, owner, and later a territory food sales rep. Being a lifelong member of the Magic Valley afforded him deep friendships, loyal customers, and a staple to the pickleball & sporting communities.

Jay will be deeply missed by his family, dog River, his friends, and this community. One last gift he gave of himself was being an organ donor (DonorConnet Utah), changing the lives of strangers. His legacy of generosity and compassion will live on in all those he touched, both in this life and beyond.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to your favorite charity in honor of Jay.

Jay's Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at 11 am at Twin Falls Reformed Church, 1631 Grandview Drive North, Twin Falls, Idaho 83301. Pastor Chuck Swaboda will officiate. The Funeral Service will be live-streamed, to watch live-stream. Click Here to View Funeral Service. Jay will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park, 2296 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls, Idaho 83301.
