Jayson Jeremy (Geren) Lowe was born in Logan, Utah, on December 19, 1982, to Debra and Larry Geren. He lived with his parents in Paris, Idaho, until he was about three years old. They then moved to Wendell, Idaho, for work, residing there until he was five years old. After some family changes, they moved to Buhl, Idaho, where Jayson went to school until he was thirteen. Jayson had his share of struggles in the school system in dealing with his disability, being born with Cerebral Palsy.
Jayson met a new neighbor when he was about eight years old, named Rusty Lowe. Rusty was one of the only kids in their apartment complex who would be friends with Jayson, and they spent a lot of time playing Nintendo and various other video games together. Jayson was hooked! They also shared a love for Boise State Broncos, with many trips to see them play and tailgate after, covered in BSU swag.
As Jayson grew bigger, it became more difficult for his mom to provide for all of his needs and especially transporting him to his many therapy appointments. When he was in junior high school, he moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho, to his first group home. This was very difficult for Jayson, especially being separated from his mother. He attended school in the Skyline School District during his time in Idaho Falls. He was befriended by some boys who were LDS and were active in their Boy Scout Troop. Jayson joined the scouting program. He attended Camp Little Lemhi that summer. He was very excited to see his mom, Rusty, and Rusty’s dad, Andy, who came up and spent the day with him Friday and spent the night before taking him home for one of many visits back home. Jayson loved going to Pinewood Derby Races with Andy even into adulthood.
At about fifteen years old, Jayson moved into a new care facility in Jerome, Idaho, after meeting the manager, Marla Palmer. Marla fell in love with Jayson, and they became great friends, even like family. During his time in Jerome, Jayson attended Jerome High School for a couple of years until his last move to Twin Falls, Idaho. Marla eventually became the owner of MDC of Idaho. He finished High School at Twin Falls High School and proudly graduated from there in 2002. That was a great day in his and his family's lives. After going on Rusty’s Wish Trip to Washington, D.C. with his family, Jayson was given a trip, and his wish was to go see Wheel of Fortune. He was thrilled to meet Vanna White, and he would always laugh when a contestant landed on Bankrupt. Jayson loved the experience and had a great time at Knott’s Berry Farms, Universal Studios, and seeing the sights of Hollywood and Santa Monica. As well as eating all of the fresh fruit and seafood that he could eat.
Jayson lived at MDC for twenty-five years or more. On November 10, 2012, Jayson had a joining of the heart’s celebration with Sophia Conway in Twin Falls, Idaho. They resided together at MDC until his passing. They loved one another very much and spent nearly all of their time together caring for each other for thirteen years. Sophia will miss her beloved Jason very much, as well as his mom Debi and dad Andy, and stepmom Rita.
His family would like to thank Marla and all of the staff that has given Jayson the best care ever at MDC of Idaho. There are too many to mention without missing someone. We also thank the many doctors and nurses, and therapists who have worked with Jayson over the years.
Jayson is survived by Sophia Conway of Twin Falls, ID (significant other), Debra Lowe (mother), James Lowe (dad).
Jayson is preceded in death by Ralph Lowe (grandfather), as well as his Kimball & Geren Grandparents. Larry Geren (father), Rusty Lowe (brother), and Diana Evanoff (aunt).
