Jean Winkler

December 5, 1943 — April 28, 2021

Jeanne Elizabeth Winkler December 5, 1943 April 28, 2021 Jeanne Elizabeth Winkler, age 77, of Twin Falls, Idaho, with her husband by her side passed away on April 28, 2021, from complications due to cancer. Jeanne was born December 5, 1943 in Detroit, MI to Elmer and Thelma Grueschow. She graduated from Littleton High School in Littleton, CO At 16, the family moved to Englewood CO, she worked in a stable to pay for the room and board of Peachy, her beloved horse. After she and Stan married, she moved her family to Morrison CO, where she designed and built two beautiful mountain homes in her 20’s. She dedicated her life to her kids and grandchildren and later to her great grandchildren whom she adored. Jeanne was a Christian and took her faith very seriously, reading the bible daily with a cup of folgers coffee, that is how she started her day. She also was a great citizen of the United States, she wrote letters to Presidents, Congress and the Opinion in several local newspapers. “We the People” she would always say, looking out for the underdog. She received letters back from Presidents, and we found out later that she threw them away until we suggested she might want to save them for her legacy. She didn’t care about her legacy, she cared about the people and the future for the generations to come. Jeanne is survived by her husband Edward “Stan” Winkler, daughter Jody Lyn, son Edward “Shawn”. Grandchildren: Amanda, Joshua, Paul, Karrisa. Great grandchildren: Isaiah, McKayla, Shayla, Reid, Emery, Dana, Delaney and so many more she called her babies. Jeanne’s wishes are to not have a conventional funeral. We are putting together memorials in Idaho and Colorado to honor her life and will post dates and times for all that would like to celebrate her life and her legacy. In lieu of flowers, please plant a tree or donate to your local Cancer Center. Dates for Celebration of Life to be determined In addition, those wishing to share memories and condolences on Jeanne's memorial page at www.magicvalleyfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are under the caring direction of Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home.
