Joan Marie Lancaster, 82, of Twin Falls, went to be with the Lord on June 19, 2025. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on February 10, 1943, in Filer, Idaho, to William and Mary Garey Phinney.
On September 14, 1958, she married the love of her life, Bob Lancaster of Filer. They had six children in this marriage.
She attended Filer High School. Joan worked for several retail stores in her younger years. Later, she worked as the reception manager at St. Luke's until her retirement in 2010.
Joan enjoyed decorating her house and yard. She loved watching The Bold and the Beautiful every day with Tina. She loved traveling with her sister, Linda, and spending time with her family and friends. We will all miss coming into her house with Fox News blasting on the TV.
Joan was an excellent cook who loved sharing her culinary creations with her family and friends. She dedicated her life to caring for others, especially her daughter, Tina, her best buddy! She was always there for any family member, friend, or stranger. She was always concerned, helpful, and never afraid to give her honest opinion and advice.
She is survived by one sister, Linda (Marv) Anderson of Pendleton, OR, six children, Rhonda (Mark) Breske of Twin Falls, Bob Jr. (Connie) Lancaster of Twin Falls, Rod (Robin) Lancaster of Twin Falls, Tracy (Tony) Godat of Olympia, WA, Terri (Darin) Parton of Bonney Lake, WA, Tina Lancaster of Twin Falls, 14 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and her three dear friends Linda, Susan, and Jane.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bob Sr., one sister, Doris Shelton, and three brothers, Bobby, Billy, and Rex.
A very special thank you to her granddaughter, Lisa, Wendy, and Ashlynne for their love, support, and dedication to their grandma and Aunt Tina, especially over the last few weeks. Also, a very special thank you to Carol Eklund for her help with our mom and Tina. The family would also like to thank and express our sincere gratitude to the ICU Unit at St. Luke’s and the entire medical team for the compassionate and professional care they provided to our mom.
