Kelly R Grimm passed away peacefully at his home in Twin Falls Idaho on September 6, 2023. Kelly was born on December 7, 1947, in Pocatello Idaho to James H and Ada Grimm. Kelly was the third of four children born into this farming family. The Grimm’s farmed in Inkom, Hollister, and eventually bought a farm in Buhl Idaho. Kelly attended school in Buhl Idaho his entire life and graduated from Buhl High School in 1966. In 1967 he enlisted in the United States Air Force. Kelly served during the Vietnam War as a C-141-A jet airplane mechanic. While he served, he was stationed primarily at Norton Air Force Base in San Bernardino, California. He had brief deployments in San Antonio, Texas and Madrid, Spain. Kelly was honorably discharged in 1971 at the rank of Sergeant. Upon his discharge he returned home to resume his love of farming. Kelly, his father, and brother Kurt farmed the 640-acre Idaho Ranch in Milner Idaho. Many years later they sold the farm and Kelly continued to reside in Milner. After selling the farm Kelly had many jobs in the agriculture, trucking, and road construction industries. He semi-retired in 2009 and continued to work part time in agriculture and trucking until his passing. When Kelly returned from the service, he started dating Vickie Caughey. Kelly and Vickie were married in January 1973 and to this union they had three fine boys Lincoln, Chad, and Jared. Later in life Kelly and Vickie would divorce. Shortly after, Kelly met and started dating Laura Gerrard who brought three kids into his life that he considered his own: Jake, David, and Creola. Kelly was a hard worker and was always willing to help others. He had a contagious personality and was loved by all who met him. He never met a stranger that he could not make his friend. Kelly is survived by his brother Steve Grimm, sister Carma Rigenberg, sons Lincoln (Daniela), Chad (Rachel), Jared (Holly), and many grandchildren. He is also survived by his extended family Laura Gerrard, Jake Wiggins, David Wiggins, Creola Jones, and their children. He was preceeded in death by his father James H Grimm, mother Ada Grimm, and brother Kurt Grimm. Please join us for a celebration of Kelly’s life at the Wilks Funeral Home in Twin Falls Idaho on September 27, 2023 at 11:00 am. A graveside service will take place following the funeral at the Snake River Canyon National Cemetery in Buhl Idaho.
