Kenneth “Luke” Young, 30, of Twin Falls, Idaho, suddenly and tragically died in a traffic accident on September 10, 2024, near Donnelly, Idaho. Luke was born January 7, 1994, to Kenney and Trudy Young, in Twin Falls.
His mother, Trudy L. Silvers, preceded Luke in death. He is survived by his father and step mother Kenney (Tina) Young of Twin Falls, his step father Monte Silvers of Cascade, his sister, Madeline (Scott) Barnes of Boise, his step sisters, Jordan Allred (Taylor) of Boise, Shelby (Wyatt) Seastrom of Cascade, his step brother, Joshua Juhnke of Missouri, and his children, Olyviah Rose Young and Remington Hunter Niven.
He attended school in the Twin Falls School District K-12 and graduated in 2012. He met and married Caitlyn Smith in 2012 and they divorced in 2018.
Luke loved the outdoors, snowboarding and photography including aerial photography with his drone. He was a highly skilled drone pilot, with a lot of nerve. He had a passion for capturing an image. He could see a picture where most of us could not and the results were stunning. He once shot video while flying his drone through the rack of a buck mule deer! He was also quite the graffiti artist. Anyone that knew Luke very long soon realized that he had little regard for rules and civil authority. He did things his own way (which did not always work out in his favor). This resulted in some very stunning photography that broke all the FAA rules… but he didn’t really care, and we loved him just the same.
As a teenager, he worked various part time jobs. In his late teens, he started in construction, became an accomplished framing contractor, and worked in construction until the time of his passing.
He also loved his family and his children. He spent lots of time with his grandmother, Freida, and his parents. He enjoyed visiting Trudy and Monte on their property in Cascade. He loved his mother, Trudy, very much and missed her deeply.
Luke was taken from us far too soon, his passing has left a void that will be long to fill
