LeRoy Irvin Carpenter

February 3, 1942 — April 22, 2021

Thursday, April 22, 2021 Twin Falls--- LeRoy (Roy) Irvin Carpenter went to be with his Lord after suffering with diabetes. Roy was born in Canyon City, CO. February 3, 1942, and moved with the family to the homestead at Hunt in 1950. He attended school at Eden Valley High School. He graduated his senior year from Canyonville Bible Academy. During his high school years, he did evangelistic youth services in the area Assembly of God churches. He married Lyla Tomlinson after high school and worked in grocery produce in Longview, WA. then moved to Kirkland to become Safeway’s produce manager in Seattle. While there, Connie and Rick were born. Roy’s heart never left the farm and in 1975 he moved his family back to the family dairy. In 1986 he married Wilma Johnson and in 2001 he and Wilma moved to their current home in Twin Falls. Roy held three subsequent jobs and retired three times: the school district lead custodian, driving truck for Falls Brand, and driving bus for the school district. Roy’s love for the Lord was first place in his life, and in 2012 he received an accreditation as ordained minister of the Assemblies. His life was a testimony for Jesus. When asked about any life circumstance he would say, “work heartily as to the Lord and not unto men”. Roy will always be remembered for his teasing and joking. He was a favorite of children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Roy is survived by his wife, Wilma; daughter, Connie (Jim); son, Rick (Kim); stepdaughters Sandra; Roberta (Zane): brother Richard Carpenter (Debbie); sister Irene Life (Gene); 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Irvin, and Thelma Carpenter. A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 25, 2021 at Parke’s Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Rd., in Twin Falls. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 26, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Kimberly Church of the Nazarene, Kimberly, ID. Burial will follow at Hazelton Cemetery.
