Linda Whismore, 77, of Twin Falls, Idaho peacefully left this earth on May 13, 2024 of natural causes.
Linda was born on April 25, 1947 to Charles and Iris Mae Laurens in Portland, OR. She attended schools in Portland, graduating from Cleveland High School in 1966. In 1968 she married Richard Clayton and was later divorced. They raised a daughter and a son. In 2004 she married James Whismore while at a bowling tournament in Nevada at the Ponderosa Ranch.
When she was younger Linda was a member of Job's Daughters of which she was a Majority Member. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star being initiated into the Jerome Chapter January 20, 1976. The Chapter eventually merged with Twin Falls Chapter # 29. During her 48 years as a member, she held several positions including Worthy Matron several times and Secretary which she held at the time of her passing. Her greatest office was Grand Chaplain of Idaho Order of Eastern Star in 2018-2019. Linda was also a member of the 21St Century Club in Twin Falls and was very active in their activities.
Linda was a breast cancer survivor and was very proud of this. She had a lot of teddy bears and bears that represented breast cancer.
She worked as a CNA for years at Twin Falls Care Center until she was unable to work anymore as a result of a vehicle accident. She loved taking care of people including her husband until the day of his passing on April 22, 2024.
She bowled on Thursday nights on Sunset League for years until her passing. It was her passion.
Linda is preceded in death by her husband James Whismore, her parents Charles and Iris Mae Laurens and her brother William Laurens. She leaves behind her children Barbie (Terry) McManus from Dietrich, Idaho; Bryan (Marie) Clayton from Twin Falls, Idaho; her grandchildren: Nade (Rain) Jones from Jerome, Idaho; Melissa Halbertson from Gooding, Idaho; Thomas Lanham from Twin Falls, Idaho; Marissa Clayton from Twin Falls, Idaho; Cheyenne (Cade) Bingham from Jerome, Idaho; Erin Clayton from Twin Falls, Idaho; RJ Clayton from Twin Falls, Idaho; William Clayton from Twin Falls, Idaho; great-grandchildren: Alexis McManus from Twin Falls, Idaho; Aliah Peterson from Twin Falls, Idaho; Amelia Jones from Jerome, Idaho; Keegan Esta from Jerome, Idaho; Justin Jamison from Jerome, Idaho; Klaus Lanham from Twin Falls, Idaho; Mylah Clayton from Twin Falls, Idaho; Brielle Bingham from Jerome, Idaho; her sister Judy Lamar from Salem, Oregon; and brother Dave Laurens from Portland, Oregon as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Wilks Funeral Home 2551 Kimberly Road Twin Falls, Idaho. Viewing will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024, 5:00pm-7:00pm and Saturday, May 18 from 9:00am-10:00am. Funeral service is on Saturday, May 18 at 10:00am. The graveside service will be at Sunset Memorial Park, 2296 Kimberly Road Twin Falls, Idaho with a reception following at Wilks Funeral Home.
