Lois Jean Standley, 99, of Boise, Idaho, formerly from Twin Falls, Idaho, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2025, in Boise, Idaho. Lois was born to Alton and Geraldine Williams on May 7, 1926, in Twin Falls, Idaho. Lois lived in Twin Falls for most of her life, but for the last 13 years, she has lived in Boise, Idaho, to be near her son and daughter-in-law.
Lois married Billie J. Standley in 1944; Billie later passed away in 1998. Lois and Billie have two sons, David and Larry. Lois was blessed to have three grandsons, Christopher, Brian, and Eric. She took great pride in her grandsons’ accomplishments. Chris is a school psychologist in Nikiski, Alaska; Brian is a physicist at the Max Planck Institute of Plasma Physics in Munich, Germany; and Eric is a senior scientist at Gilead Sciences in Foster City, California. The highlight of her life was her great-granddaughter, Vera, who is 11 years old. Her fondest memories of Vera were feeding the ducks in the pond behind her patio home in Boise, and dyeing Easter eggs, sometimes even after Easter was over.
In 2000, Lois married Edward “Ed” Schenk in Twin Falls. They had nearly 10 wonderful years together before his death in 2009. Ed was readily accepted into the family by Lois’s sons and grandsons because he was so kind and caring.
Several years ago, Lois told her grandsons that she would try to make it to her 100th birthday. Lois fell short of that goal by just 5 months.
In following Lois’s wishes, no formal services will be held, and she will be laid to rest at the Twin Falls Cemetery, 2350 4th Ave E., Twin Falls, Idaho 83301
Memories and condolences may be shared with the family in the guestbook section below.
