Lola (Mom) Prescott, June 1, 1937 – January 27, 2026
Lola (Mom) Prescott passed away peacefully on January 27, 2026, at her home in Kimberly, Idaho, surrounded by her loving family.
Lola was born on June 1, 1937, to Tearl E. Seebold and Irma M. Craun Seebold in Hennessey, Oklahoma. As a young child, she moved with her family to Seattle, Washington, and later to Idaho, where she graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1955.
She met the love of her life, Everett Prescott, and they were married on January 11, 1958. Together, Everett and Lola built a life rooted in hard work, adventure, and a deep love for family and community. Rodeo was at the heart of their lives, and they proudly passed along their passion for rodeo and the western and agricultural way of life to their children.
Lola was instrumental in bringing the Little Buckaroo Rodeo to Frontier Field in Twin Falls, creating opportunities for young cowboys and cowgirls. Stanley Basin became a second home for the Prescott family—filled with camping, fishing, hunting, and winter snowmobiling—where Mom was a force to be reckoned with on the racetrack.
Anyone who knew Lola knew she was one of the hardest-working people they would ever meet. She was an owner-operator of many businesses throughout her life. She drove potato trucks, owned E&L Cleaning Service, but her favorite endeavor was owning and operating Prescott Pony Rides and Kids Carnival. For years, hundreds of children rode Prescott ponies at the Twin Falls County Fair in Filer. The family carnival traveled throughout Idaho, appearing at county fairs, rodeos, civic events, and Fourth of July celebrations.
Over the years, Everett and Lola employed dozens of teenagers. By the end of their first day on the job, they were no longer just employees—they were family. Mom became “Mom” to them all for a lifetime.
Everett and Lola spent many years in Arizona and New Mexico, where Lola fell in love with the Navajo Nation—the people, culture, and history. She later purchased a chuck wagon and served food at farm and household auctions, cattle shows, and local events. For many years, she cooked at the Twin Falls Gun Club, where she cherished the friendships formed with everyone who came through the doors for breakfast and lunch.
After retiring, Mom enjoyed tricking her kids into taking her to Jackpot to play the slot machines—often returning home a winner.
Lola’s greatest gift was that she never met a stranger. She loved people deeply, and they loved her right back. Thanksgiving and Christmas found her home filled with family, friends, and anyone who wanted a wonderful meal and a loving place to be.
Survivors include her daughters, Sheri (Jim) Arkoosh of Nampa, Cindy (Bill) Gochnour of Kimberly, and Tanya (Steven) Alvarez of Kimberly; Bobbie Prescott of Alabama; and her son, Barry Prescott of Kimberly. The extended family includes Emmalee (Jonathon) Miller and children, Talan, NyKyrian, and Zaes of Hansen, and Valerie (Scott) Shepard of Hagerman.
She is also survived by her grandchildren: Jennifer, Alex, Vedran, Neven, Kacie, Shalimar, Kayla, Decker, Shelby, Ryley, Kimbra, Lisa, Jasmyne, Dillon, and Chelsea; and her great-grandchildren: Luka, Emma, Tristan, Layne, Radin, Gidieon, Matlyn, Kash, Brooks, Madison, and Gavin.
