Michael Eugene Simon

Michael Eugene Simon passed away on February 17, 2026 in Boise, Idaho with family at his side. He was born the fifth of six children on January 29, 1951 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Reuben Simon and Marjorie Mead Simon. He grew up on a farm in Iona, Idaho and attended Iona Elementary School and Bonneville High School. His mother passed away in 1965, when he was 14 years old. Four years later in 1969, his father re-married and he gained 3 stepbrothers and 1 stepsister. Then his dad and stepmom had a child together, his only half-sister, Suzanna, in 1975.

He married Mary Fleming in Wells, Nevada in 1979. Mary had 2 children, Robert and Kimberly, whom Mike raised as his own. They lived throughout Eastern and Southern Idaho where Mike worked various farming jobs, eventually settling in Twin Falls where he worked and ultimately retired from Falls Brand.

He enjoyed fishing, golfing with his buddies, and camping. He also liked a good game of pinochle. He and Mary would play with his dad and stepmother. It was often a lively game and sometimes would end early due to too much “table talk” going on.

He had the biggest heart and always had a joke to tell. He loved his grandkids and great-grandkids with his whole heart. Those “babies” were his pride and joy and he couldn’t imagine living without them.

He is survived by one brother, Russel Simon, and three sisters; Linda (Clint) Sisson, Sharon (Richard) Paar, and Suzanna (Mike) Hubele. He is also survived by his daughter, Kimberly Brawn as well as 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Mother and Father, his wife Mary, sisters Diana Lee and Mary Ann Meier, son Robert Simon, and grandson Matthew Simon.
