Noland P. “Phil” Winn passed away peacefully at home in Twin Falls, Idaho on September 8, 2024. A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church 209 5th Avenue North, Twin Falls, ID on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to a military charity in his name.
Phil is preceded in death by Alice M. (Reed) Winn. He is survived by his sister Phyllis Nuss, two sons, Curt Winn (Michelle Winn-Brinkoetter) and Scott Winn (Dee Winn), five grandchildren (Dalton, Drake, Harrison, Jake, and Dani), five great-grandchildren (Brooks, Fallon, Luca, Dane, and Kaia) and his spouse Susan Harris.
Phil was born in Thurman Colorado on June 6, 1938. He went to South High School in Denver, Colorado, and after graduating, entered the United States Marine Corps. After his honorable discharge from the Marines, Phil returned to work for Mountain Bell. After 30 years of service from the phone company, He retired and spent time traveling and eventually settled in Arizona with Alice. He and Alice later moved to Idaho to be closer to family. After Alice passed away, he met Susan Harris and began another chapter in his life.
Phil was very proud of his military service, devoted to his faith, and loved his family and friends. He enjoyed going to car races, spending time is his woodworking shop crafting many different items, showing off his classic 1960 Pontiac convertible, and attending sporting events at the local college. Phil never missed an opportunity to send a birthday card, anniversary card, holiday card, or any other special occasion.
Phil was a man of the highest integrity and great character. He will be greatly missed but his memory will be everlasting. May the Lord welcome him with open and loving arms.
