Richard "Andy" A.
Bamping
July 16, 1946 – February 22, 2026
Richard Andrew (Andy)Bamping, 79, of Twin Falls, Idaho, peacefully passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2026 in Twin Falls, Idaho in the arms of his devoted, loving wife, Anne, at St. Luke's Hospital.
Andy was born July 16, 1946, in Long Beach, California, to Frederick and Marge Bamping. He was the 3rd of 5 children. The family moved to the Fresno area, where Andy grew up. As a boy, he was active in the Boy Scouts, attended Central High School, graduated, and studied Art at Fresno City. Andy loved Horses which he rode and showed for others.
Andy was blessed with a son, Dustin Bamping, in July of 1971 & July of 1972, a daughter, Deveree Bamping Glover.
Andy married the love of his life, Anne Harper June 12, 1981, at the Kingsburg Gun Club, who would become his wife and lifelong partner. Together, they welcomed their son, Clayton Joseph Bamping, in December of 1984. Andy was a devoted husband and father who took pride in providing for his family through hard work and dedication. Andy’s children were always loved and, more important to him, more important than his own life. In addition to Andy’s 3 biological children, he had a dozen more who called him Pops.
Over the 44 years of their marriage, they moved to different areas within California, but their journey landed their family in Twin Falls, Idaho, in 2007.
Andy loved people and being involved in his community. Andy was a member of the Yosemite Lakes Recreation Committee, Rock Creek Community Church, Magic Valley Gem Club, Magic Valley Arts Council & was awarded 1st place in the Jewelry Category 2015 & 2016. In addition, Andy was Santa Claus for 5 years at the Yosemite Lakes Clubhouse. Last several years Andy was at member of a Men's Coffees Club. Tuesday mornings 10 a.m. Thanks guys for all the conversations & kindness you showed.
Andy's love and curiosity for jewelry making sparked when he was employed as a Salesman for Edmonds Jewelers. He was fired for hanging out in the shop watching the Jewelers. A month later, he was asked to come back as an Apprentice to a Master Jeweler from Finland, which led Andy to become a Master Jeweler.
What started as a new opportunity as an apprentice lead him to win many Art accolades throughout his lifetime. His tenacity and desire to create beautiful pieces opened up the doors for making remarkable Jewelry for Cher, Harry Connick, Jr., Elton John and Trisha Yearwood. He was awarded many awards for his unique "one of a kind" Art pieces, furthermore recognizing and highlighting his amazing talents.
Andy had a zest for life and people that was obvious the moment he extended his hand out to greet you for a good handshake. He always had a smile on his face. A loyal husband, father, and friend who filled any room with laughter.
In his most recent years, he had battled many health issues valiantly and with dignity.
Andy was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick Clayton Bamping and Margie Lorraine Bamping, his sister, Marjorie Jo Martinez, and his brother, Tom Bamping. Along with his many devoted friends, He is survived by his Wife Anne Bamping; his sons, Dustin Bamping and Clayton Bamping and Daughter Deveree Glover, a brother, John Bamping; and his sister, Maudie Bamping, as well as many nieces and nephews.
We are forever blessed to have had Andy in our lives as a son, brother, husband, father, and friend.
