Richard (Dick) M. Boyd, a beloved husband, father, and friend to many, passed away on September 24th, 2024 in Twin Falls, Idaho. He was born on May 22nd, 1940 in Jerome, Idaho to loving parents who instilled in him the values of hard work and dedication.
Dick's life was marked by love and family. In February of 1966 he married Lucretia Caldwell Boyd and then in the Fall of the same year he enlisted and served in The Air National Guard. Later they welcomed their son Shad into the world. Although their marriage ended in divorce later on, Dick remained committed to being a devoted father to his children throughout his life.
In 1984 he found love again when he married Carol Williams and embraced her two children as his own - Rick and Angel.
Despite the challenges that came with divorce once more, Dick's heart remained open to love when he met and married Jackie Webb Boyd July 22, 2005. Their shared birthday created an instant bond between them as they embarked on a journey together that would last for years until his passing.
A man of many talents and passions, Dick had an illustrious career that began at Johnny’s Used Cars where he honed his skills at making Hot Rods alongside his father after graduating from Twin Falls High School in 1958. His true calling emerged when he joined Magic Valley International where "The Truck Business" became not just a profession but also a lifelong passion that brought him immense joy until his retirement at age 65.
Beyond work lay Dick's deep love for the outdoors; hunting trips with friends or annual excursions with Shad including his once in a lifetime moose hunt where he was successful in tagging his bull moose, were cherished moments filled with camaraderie and adventure. His travels with Jackie opened up new horizons for him - from winters spent in Arizona to road trips across Tennessee visiting Nashville, Graceland and Dollywood; camping among California Redwoods; fishing expeditions in Juneau Alaska – each experience etched unforgettable memories into his heart.
His legacy lives on through those who loved him dearly: wife Jackie Boyd; son Shad (Nickie) Boyd; daughter Angel (Stacey) Miller; son Rick (Tracy) Boyd; Kris (John) Chapman along with extended family members Kim Harral, Clay (Bert) Webb, Stacie (Don) Baker and Teresa Webb who held him close as one of their own. As well as sisters: Peggy Mikel, Teri Niedrich and numerous Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren
And nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his Parents, Johnny and Esther Boyd, Brother Larry Boyd and Sister Linda Barbie
Richard M. Boyd will be remembered not only for his professional achievements but also for the warmth of his smile which lit up every room he entered - leaving behind countless cherished memories that will forever be treasured by all whose lives were touched by this remarkable man.
