Robert "Bob" Dean Berg

Robert “Bob” Dean Berg, 86, of Kimberly, Idaho, passed away on August 4, 2025, at Twin Falls Transitional Care of Cascadia in Twin Falls, Idaho, with his wife Kathrine by his side.

Bob was born on March 4, 1936, to Nellie Bernice Stapley and Sigurd Berg in Burley, Idaho. He was raised on the family farm in Burley.

Bob graduated from high school in Bliss, Idaho, and went on to attend college at Boise Junior College, the University of Idaho, Idaho State University, and the University of Nevada, Reno. He then began working as a wildfire fighter and later started one of the first Hot Shot crews for the Forest Service. Bob continued working outdoors throughout the rest of his working years.

At the age of 19, Bob met Kathrine Irene Miller of Kimberly. This was a match truly made in heaven. They were later married on June 25, 1958. From this union, Bob and Kathrine were blessed with two children, Robert “Robbie” Gene Berg in 1961 and Nancy Irene Berg in 1965.

Bob and Kathrine became active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They both served in many church callings over the years. They were later sealed for Eternity on June 21, 2005, in Boise, Idaho, Temple.

Bob is survived by his wife; Kathrine Irene Berg, his daughter; Nancy Irene Berg, his daughter-in-law; Shauna Phelps Berg his grandchildren; Ryan Michael Berg, Christopher Robert Berg, Dakota Shaun Berg, Zachariah Lee Ahrendsen, and Melissa Ann Berg, and his two great-grandchildren; Cleo Lucinda Berg and Eliza Mae Berg.

Bob was preceded in death by his son; Robert “Robbie” Gene Berg, his parents; Sigurd and Nellie Berg, his stepfather; Richard Hill, and by his brother; Larry Berg.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025, at 1 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3850 North 3500 East, Kimberly, Idaho 83341 with a viewing prior from 12:00 - 12:45 pm. The Funeral Service will be livestreamed. To view the livestream please watch below.
