Robert “Bob” Eugene VanOstrand, 84, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Twin Falls Transitional Care of Cascadia, in Twin Falls, Idaho.
Bob was born and raised in Twin Falls, Idaho, where he spent most of his life. After high school graduation, he volunteered for the U.S. Army, serving three years in America and Germany. After his military service, he joined the Aslett Construction Company, where his father was a master mechanic. Bob operated earth-moving equipment for a couple of years. He also found time to be a bartender for Ron Embree at the Beacon Club in Twin Falls. Then he decided to try the office atmosphere as the Public Works Coordinator for the City of Twin Falls for 35 years, until he retired.
In 1992, Bob married Debbie “Deb”- the love of his life. He was an avid outdoorsman and together they enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as traveling. Deb passed away in 1999 and Bob remained single afterward. As a perfectionist, he never let anything slide - always fixing or replacing something or tinkering with automobiles or woodworking.
In following with Bob’s wishes he will be laid to rest next to Debbie at Sunset Memorial Park, 2296 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls, ID 83301. When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure.
