Rose Meier

May 1, 1931 — September 8, 2022

Rose Dolores Meier, age 91, of Buhl, Idaho. Our loving Mother and Grandmother passed away peacefully on September 8, 2022, at Stonebridge Assisted Living, Hagerman, Idaho. Rose was born May 1, 1931, to Ernest A. and Ella (Eden) Reinke. She was raised and educated in Clover, ID where she attended school through the 8th grade. Her parents retired and moved to Buhl, Idaho where she graduated from Buhl High School. In 1949 Rose met the love of her life, Leo M. Meier, who she married on September 24, 1950. They were blessed with four children: Junia, Arlyn, Myron, and Karla. Rose had a career spanning over thirty years working for Ralph Smith and John Crawford at Sav-Mor The drug in Buhl, ID where she helped in the pharmacy and later did the bookkeeping. One of her favorite parts of her job was seeing and visiting with the customers and staff and having lunch with Leo at Jackson’s Kountry Korner where they both enjoyed catching up with their friends throughout the community. Their family lived and farmed in the Northview area and South of Buhl until Karl Meier asked them to farm his land located West of Buhl. She took pride in supporting the farm operations and always had dinner on the table for everyone, making sure no one went home hungry. Rose enjoyed playing pinochle and hosted many games with friends and family at their home. Rose is survived by her children Junia Kruse of Hagerman, ID, and Arlyn Meier of Boise, ID; Life Time Freind Mary Vogt of Boise ID; two grandchildren, Jason Kruse (Amanda Burkett) of Gainesville, FL, and Melissa (Kirk) Thayer of Idaho City, ID; and six great-grandchildren, Landon Thayer, Jackson Kruse, Ryan Kruse, Kolten Burkett, Ashlan Burkett, and Audrey Burkett-Kruse. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Leo, son Myron, daughter Karla, son-in-law Rick Kruse, brothers Orval and Clarence Reinke, as well as sisters Luella Reinke, Lola Reinke, Vivian Meyer, and Delores Wegehaupt. We would like to thank the Stonebridge Assisted Living and Alliance Hospice staff for taking wonderful care of our Mother and Grandmother A Service will be held at 2:00 PM on September 23, 2022, at Clover Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev Steven Barchkholtz officiating.
