Ruby Glyn Kirby, 99, of Twin Falls, Idaho, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Canyons Senior Living in Twin Falls, Idaho.

Ruby was born on November 17, 1926, at South Union, KY at her house on a farm. She had 4 sisters and 1 half-brother- Lorraine, Kathryn, (Ruby), Imogene, Joyce, & Dewey Lynn.

She lived in that house until she was 17 and graduated as valedictorian of her High School Class. Then she went to Bowling Green Business University and graduated in May of 1947.

She married Ed Kirby in 1947 at age 20. Her first child, Edmond Glenn, was born in l948 in Bowling Green, Kentucky. They moved to Osceola, Arkansas, and their 2nd child, Linda Carol, was born in 1950. They moved to Carthage, Missouri, in l953. They lived there for 15 years until 1968. Glenn and Linda went to College, and Ed and Ruby moved to San Antonio, Texas, for about 2 years. They then moved to McAllen, Texas, and stayed there for about 46 years until 2016. Her husband Ed passed away in 1999. Ruby moved to Phoenix, Arizona, at age 90 to live with her daughter Linda in 2016. She moved to Twin Falls, Idaho, in 2024 to live with her son Glenn and his wife Carolyn.

Ruby had many interests in life: sewing, liked all stages of school- grade school, High School, and college, the card game Bridge, and the tile game- mahjong, liked these TV Shows-Judge Judy, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, I Love Lucy, The Carol Burnett Show, her family, and her church wherever she lived. Her church background was the Christian Church.

Who was Ruby as a person? She liked people, was well-liked, was a peace-maker,

was unselfish, was a servant, was kind, was a great daughter, sister, wife, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother- everyone called her “Grandma Ruby”, was religious and spiritual, was fair, was wise, was a good listener, liked to laugh, was positive, and she did not like complaints.

She left behind her family: 1 sister, 2 children and 1 daughter-in-law, 3 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren plus 3 spouses, and 9+ great, great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her husband, and 3 sisters.

A funeral service for Ruby will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 3:00 pm at Kimberly Christian Church, 307 Madison St E, Kimberly, ID 83341, with a viewing one hour before, at the church. The funeral service will be live-streamed. You can view the livestream on this page on the day of the service. Ruby will be laid to rest next to her husband at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in McAllen, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to a charity of your choice in Ruby's honor.
