To watch the funeral service live go to: https://meet.google.com/uip-kkeu-whs Steven Max Hailstone 11/11/1941 ~ 5/13/2023 Steven Max Hailstone passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones at the age of 81 on May 13, 2023. He was born in Santa Monica, California to Calvin Max Hailstone and Sallie Jane Koenig, he was raised in Hyrum, Utah. Steve had wonderful memories and great stories of growing up in Hyrum. He spent time up Blacksmith Fork Canyon and working with family at the Anderson Ranch. He graduated from South Cache High School in Hyrum, Utah. He then went on to Utah State University, where he received his degree in Business Management, and played football alongside Merlin Olsen (which he was proud of.) From 1960 to 1966 Steve enlisted and went into the United States Navy, where his naval career took him to Fort Douglas, Midway Island and Fallon, Nv. In November of 1960 Steve married NaDean Balling, where they had three children, Steve, Chad, and Teri, that marriage ended later in divorce. After serving in the military, Steve did odd jobs as a Drywaller, and moved to Paul, Idaho. In the 1980’s Steve moved to Twin Falls, Id. where he owned and operated Three’s Away Bar for a short time. In 1983, after deciding to stay a Drywaller and build a business, he landed a great job in the Bear Lake Valley. There is where he met Teresa B. Hayes. On December 14, 1984, Steve and Teresa married, and went forth and built Hailstone Drywall into a successful business to which Steve retired from. When Steve married Teresa he gained a daughter Regan, they had their Son K.C. and some years later through angels he gained another daughter Kimberli. Steve loved the outdoors, he loved hunting, fishing, and golfing with friends and family. He had a huge love for golf and was a member of The Old Blue. He loved drag racing with his corvette and took home many trophies, his other favorite past times include bowling, billiards, and darts there wasn’t much that he wasn’t good at. He served on the National Ski Patrol at Pomerelle and was photographed for a popular national ski magazine. Steve loved spending his summers on the ranch in Pegram, Idaho. He will always be remembered for his jokes and the jokes that were played on him. (There are some great ones, one in which lasted a full summer!!) Steve is survived by three sons, Steve (Darla) McBride, Chad (Krisie) McBride, K.C. Hailstone, three daughters, Teri (Paul)Boman, Regan Hayes, and Kimberli Wicks, five sisters, Judy (Daniel) Jensen, Peggy (Bartly) Hirst, Betty (Dennis) Jeffs, Barbera Hess, and Ruth Crosby, 16 Grandchildren, and 22 Great Grandchildren. He is proceeded in death by his wife Teresa, his parents, a grandson Trenton Hayes, sister Janet (William) Ware, and brother Robert (Carol) Hailstone. A celebration of life will be held Friday, May 19, 2023, at 4:00 PM, so if you have a story you’d like to share please do. A viewing will be held between 2 PM and 4 PM before the services. Burial and graveside service will take place at the Montpelier Cemetery, in Montpelier, Idaho on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at 3:00 PM.
