Twin Falls

Terry Richard Theener, of Twin Falls, Idaho, formerly of Filer, Idaho, passed away on September 6, 2025.

Terry was born on October 9, 1948, in Twin Falls, Idaho, the son of JA and Gladwin Theener.

Growing up in the Filer area, Terry was in Boy Scouts for several years while also helping on the farm. Terry attended Filer High School and graduated in 1967. After graduation, Terry attended the Denver Automotive Institute in Denver, Colorado, and soon after joined the National Guard.

After completing his service, Terry returned to Filer and worked alongside his dad running the family farm. He retired from farming in 2001 and worked for the Twin Falls Canal Company until retiring in 2016.

He was married to his wife, Kay, for 44 years. After retiring, they traveled often and especially enjoyed trips to the Oregon coast with their son Scott.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, son Cory Richard Theener, and his in-laws Carl and Lois Smith of Hazelton.

He is survived by his wife, Kay, and son Scott (Portland, OR). His sisters, Karen Hall (Filer) and Donna Humphries (Twin Falls), as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to convey their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Canyons Senior Living Center in Twin Falls, Idaho, for the loving care shown to Terry during his time with them.

A celebration of life is planned for the spring of 2026.
