Timothy R Berkeley

December 10, 1927 — December 8, 2020

Timothy Ray Berkley Timothy Ray Berkley, age 92 of Kimberly, Idaho passed away December 8, 2020 at Oak Creek Rehabilitation Center in Kimberly, Idaho Timothy, or Tim as he came to be known to most of us was born December 10, 1927 at 8:15 P.M. to Mr. and Mrs. James and Margaret (Edna Odd) Berkley. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. Unfortunately, not much is known about Tim's childhood. He didn't share much about his upbringing with his children. However, he would mention times about growing up living on a homestead down in the Canyon. He would mention that he only had a Third Grade education and then he started working around this time to help support his family. He enlisted in the ARMY in 1943 and served with the SEABEES until his Honorable Discharge in 1946. Tim started working as a ranch hand for Glen Bates in Burley, Idaho the Spring of 1965. This is where he met Jane Elizabeth Bates. They fell in love and were blessed with four children. Elizabeth (Jim) Casey, James (Amy) Berkeley, Shirley (Brian) Bogue, and Patrick (Debbie) Berkley. Tim and his family moved around trying to find a place to call home when the children were small. He liked and was involved with a CB club when he and his family lived in Adrian, Michigan. They had several members and loved to have get-togethers. From Michigan, Tim moved his family to Utah, this is where he started his love of working with and taking care of animals. He worked as an animal control officer there and continued this passion when he moved his family back to Burley. He worked for the City of Burley and made many friends while working there. Some will even tell you that he would pick up their dogs and let them ride around with him before returning them home. He loved his job working for the city as their animal control officer, and this is where he later retired. While living in Burley he loved fishing for catfish and camping and hunting. Taking his family to the South Hills when possible for weekend camping trips. He was a good dad helping his children with rides to and from work. He was always willing to assist others anyway that he could. He was blessed to be Grandpa to five grandchildren, Amber, Jon, Jessica, Jaxson, and Brandon. He was also blessed with five great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by both of his parents, and all his brothers and sisters. His daughter Elizabeth and ex-wife Jane Berkley as well as many of his friends. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Parke’s Magic Valley Funeral Home of Twin Falls, Idaho. Tim will be laid to rest in the Snake River Canyon National Cemetery in Buhl, Idaho at a later date. This is a verse that he always liked and said that when it was his time to please remember him when reading it. The Lord is my Shepherd. I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside still waters, He restoreth my soul. He guides me in the paths of righteousness for His Name’s sake. Even though I walk through the Valley of Shadow of Death, I will fear no evil, For You are with me. Your rod and staff, they comfort me. You prepare the table before me In the presence of mine enemies. You anoint my head with oil; My cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow me All the days of my life, And I will dwell in the House of the Lord forever. Psalms 23:1-6
