Mrs. Violet G. Coffey, a loving wife and devoted mother of ten children, passed away at the age of 94 on Saturday, May 30, 2026, in Twin Falls, Idaho.
Violet was born on November 29, 1931, in St. Johns, Arizona, to Eugene and Genevieve Waite. She was one of eleven children. At an early age, Violet began cleaning houses to help support her family after her father’s tragic passing. Following high school, she held several jobs, including working as a telephone operator, a drugstore clerk, and providing ironing services for members of her community.
Her greatest legacy, however, was her family. Her proudest roles were those of wife and mother. She met her late husband, Bill Coffey, in St. Johns in 1961. They met through her brother-in-law, who was working for Bill at the time. The two were married in Las Vegas in January 1962 and blended their families, bringing together eight children, Bill with five and Violet with three, before welcoming two more children of their own.
Violet dedicated her life to raising her ten children and supporting her husband in all his endeavors, while remaining active in her church and community. In 1980, the family moved from New Mexico to Idaho, where they made their home for the remainder of their lives.
Violet touched many lives with her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her son William, her daughter Kathy, her husband Bill, and all 10 of her brothers and sisters.
She is survived by eight of her children: Edd, Floyd, Terry, Pamela, Helen, Darlinda, Evelyn, and Kimberly, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Viewing for Violet will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 10:00 am to 10:45 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 440 E. Nez Perce Ave. Richfield, Idaho 83349. Violets Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 am. Viotet will be laid to rest at the Richfield Cemetery.
