Vergil Pace

January 31, 1932 — January 19, 2020

The exact date of my passing was glorious event. It happened on January 19, 2020 at St. Luke’s Magic Valley Regional Medical Center in Twin Falls.  I am survived by my son, Guy L Pace, a thoughtful and kind man who is the author of several books. He resides in Spokane, Washington with his wife Connie;  My wonderful daughter, Kellie Ann Pace, who was a delight to raise. She was a highly decorated soldier and is retired from the US Army. She lives in Winchester, Idaho with her husband Christopher; My beautiful, loving daughter Tanya Nix who spends most of her time caring for and helping others. She lives in Mountain View, Wyoming with her husband Gary. Also surviving are my sister Sidney Reynolds of Bend, Oregon along with  15 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren. I was born in Burley, Idaho, on January 31, 1932, blessed with two amazing parents; Edda Zatelle Hunt and Virgil Sevy Pace. Both were son and daughter of some of the first settlers in Burley. I attended Kindergarten through the 12th grade in Burley and graduated from High School with the famous class of 1950. Attended college at Idaho State, Boise State, National Schools, UCLA, Army Corps of Engineers School of Engineering by correspondence and the Pasadena Playhouse. Spent 4 years in the Air Force, during the Korean War, where I spent most of my time as a Television Director for the 1354th Video Production Squadron, which was the first and only military television organization. I liked to say that I fought the Battle of Hollywood. My training for this was on the job at NBC in Hollywood. Schooling was at the Pasadena Playhouse. I worked as a heavy Equipment Operator, Land Surveyor, Construction Management Engineer with the Army Corp of Engineers, Assistant Project Manager and Operations Manager for the Minute Man Missile Sites around Great Falls, Montana. Managed the construction of over 1,200 miles of high voltage power lines in the Northwestern US and Canada for Commonwealth Electric Company. Owned my own Powerline Construction Business that contracted with Idaho Power and several REA's. Worked for Power Engineers as a Projects Engineering Manager and later was the senior partner with Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. of Spokane, Washington. Was Vice President and General Manager of MacGregor Utilities Company and served on the board of the parent company, MacGregor Triangle. We owned a 680 acre ranch located up Rock Creek, south of Hansen, where I built a round house with a cone shaped roof. Lived on the Ranch for 10 years. Obtained my Realtor License and was briefly in the Real Estate Business. This is the one adventure that I did not like. Bought several businesses and dozens of properties during my time on earth. I loved my work and was pretty much a "workaholic". Because of this I neglected the most important thing in life, my family. I regret not spending more quality time with my dear wife, children and grandchildren. Hopefully I can make it up in the spirit world. I am predeceased by my wife, my parents, my sister Robyn, my daughter Gay Lynn, and grandson, Christopher Clifton. A Celebration of My Life will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at Parke’s Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Rd. in Twin Falls.  Those who wish may share memories and condolences to my family on my memorial page at www.magicvalleyfuneralhome.com.
