Vonnie Marie Kent,71, of Twin Falls, Idaho, formerly of Delta, Colorado passed away on May 27, 2024. Vonnie was born in Susanville, California on June 26th 1952. The second child to Leo Carman of Susanville and Helen French Carman of Janesville.
An energetic child, she was always getting into mischief. Stories were told of Vonnie always willing to bring home the class pet snake….something her mother Helen didn't approve of. The snake was immediately thrown out into the yard after being presented in Helen’s kitchen.
Her first dog was a white Samoyed named Kishee. Just as mischievous as Vonnie, Kishee had a taste for Helen’s roses. She loved eating the petals and as she would get stuck by the thorns of the rose bush her appetite for the petals grew. Helens roses would be bald in an afternoon. Her first horse was a gift from her cousin Sheldon who was a ranch manager in Clovis.
Vonnie attended North Fork Elementary School and Sierra Joint Union High School. She was a majorette in marching band, played piano, and competed in piano duet competitions. She would marry young to her high school sweetheart, Donald Moore, and they together would have one son, Bradley Moore.
Moving back closer to home Vonnie would remarry, Alfred “Bink” Huddleston of Greenville in 1974 and together they would have one son, Josh Huddleston.
Vonnie first worked for her Uncle Mike Ayoob at Ayoobs department store in Greenville, and later at Plumas Bank in Greenville, one of the original branch locations.
She had an undying love for animals and horses were her passion. Vonnie would have many horses during her life. Raising registered Appaloosas and quarter horses was a passion. She competed in many fancy dress parade competitions and tended cattle with her last husband, James “Jamie” Kent of Delta Colorado. Vonnie and Jamie always had horses around, even past the time of being able to ride them.
She retired from Wells Fargo Bank in 2012 and looked forward to spending time at home with the animals and her garden.
She is survived by her husband, Jamie Kent of Delta, CO., sons Bradley Moore of Golconda, NV, and Josh Huddleston of Greenville, CA, stepdaughter Kindra Welvaret of Kyle, TX, brother Earnie Carman and wife Jeannie Carman of Orangevale, CA, grandsons Sam Moore and Jeremy Moore of Golconda, NV and Kalum Welvaret of Kyle, TX, nieces Jill Brubaker, husband Dave and children Kaylee and Lily Brubaker, of Long Beach, CA and Stefanie Spangler, husband Paul and children Collin, Norah, Lucy and Heidi Spangler of Orangevale, CA.
Vonnie will be remembered always as a strong woman. Beautiful and petite with a huge heart and the ability to speak her mind, sometimes getting her into trouble… I love you Mom.
