William “Bill” Elbert Berks, 65, a resident of Kimberly, Idaho, passed away in the early hours on December 24, 2025.

Bill left us very unexpectedly on December 24, 2025, at St. Luke’s Magic Valley with family by his side.

Bill was born on October 6, 1960, to John A Berks Sr. and Blanche Rose Welch (Rose Lattin), in Twin Falls, Idaho.

Bill was a very hard worker starting at a very young age. He was a cowboy at an early age on the family ranch up Rock Creek south of Hansen, Idaho.

At the age of 16, Bill met the love of his life, Jery Brown. To this union his only son was born, Jeffery Daniel Brown, on March 12, 1977.

Bill and Joy later separated but remained best friends until the day he passed. In 1978, Bill enlisted in the US Navy. He did a 4-year term with an honorable discharge.

In 1981, he met and married Kathleen Mumm. Two daughters were born to this marriage, Sara E. Berks, on September 13, 1982, and Jennifer D. Berks on July 9, 1984. They would later divorce.

Bill worked at several places, but his passion was antiques. He loved his family and siblings very much.

Bill is preceded in death by his mother, Rose Lattin, father John Berks Sr., and son Jeffery Brown.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Sara, Jennifer, Holly, 6 grandchildren, brother JT Berks (Dora), John Berks Jr, Marsh Fritz (Andy), Brenda Krigbaum, and many nephews and nieces.

Bill will be forever missed by all who knew him.

A memorial potluck will be held on June 13, 2026, at Wilson Lake. Please let us know if you would like to bring a dish and attend.
